Sweetish Hill was an iconic bakery that served the Austin community for 40+ years. When McGuire Moorman Hospitality took over the business, their vision was to keep the institution’s legacy intact, which also meant reverting back to the business’ original name: Swedish Hill. Inspired by the bustling bakeries and delis of London, New York and California, Lambert McGuire designed the renovation plans for the space which was comprised of a retail grocery area, deli counter, large floating coffee bar, and seating areas. Design features include terracotta floors, white oak shelving, marble countertops, plastered walls, Heath tile, and plenty of natural light. Furniture and fixtures include Carl Hansen chairs, Garza Marfa stools, David Weeks Studio lighting, and custom millwork and brass metalwork by Austin craftsmen.
